Boliden is a high-tech metal company with its own mines and smelters, committed to ensuring society’s supply of base and precious metals while striving to be the world’s most climate-friendly and respected metal provider. Our work has been integral to the value chains that have shaped modern society for a century. The metals we mine and produce will play a crucial role in the future – it is how we produce them that matters. Join us in driving change for generations to come.

The Manager Sales Zinc Metal at Boliden is responsible for overseeing Zinc sales operations in the sales team. This role entails leading a sales team in Europe, formulating sales strategies, and enhancing relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external.

Your Opportunity:

Boliden Commercial is searching for a dedicated Sales Manager for Zinc Metal to join our Sales department. The position is primarily located in Stockholm, though alternative locations can be considered.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a cross-departmental sales team focused on researching market trends and macroeconomic developments.
  • Develop strategic sales plans and negotiate contracts to optimize business performance.
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with both internal stakeholders (e.g., factory managers, production managers, order handling and processing) and external partners (e.g., banks, analysts).
  • Address operational issues related to executing sales in a timely manner.
  • Travel to locations such as Odda and Kokkola to liaise with manufacturing and foundry partners.
  • Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders, including monthly discussions with local and central planners, and technical consultants.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant university degree in Engineering, Economics, or Business Administration.
  • Background in commodities, base industry, or similar sectors.
  • Proven experience in business development or macroeconomic research.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Swedish, Finnish, or German is advantageous.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities, along with structured and process-oriented approach to work.
  • Proficient analytical skills, particularly in financial business analysis using Excel.
  • Familiarity with MS Office and other relevant databases and systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with a track record of identifying and nurturing talent.

Leadership Style:

  • A hands-on leadership approach, emphasizing teamwork and development within the group.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to dynamic market conditions while fostering an environment of learning and growth.

Challenges:

  • Navigate the complexities of building a new customer base and adapting to market changes over the next two years, particularly with the emphasis on low-carbon solutions.
  • Engage effectively with diverse stakeholder groups, including mining operations and financial institutions, to drive strategic initiatives forward.

Why work with us:

At Boliden, we believe in creating a workplace where care, courage, and responsibility guide everything we do. We offer a supportive and collaborative environment and if you are passionate about making a difference and ready to take on a role that offers both challenge and growth, we would like to hear from you.
